On January 17, 2026, students from KKN Team 8 of Universitas Diponegoro held a socialization event in RW 02 Ngemplak Simongan to educate the community about the proper and correct use of antibiotics. This activity aimed to enhance the public’s understanding of the importance of using antibiotics according to medical advice and to prevent antibiotic resistance, which could reduce the effectiveness of treatments in the future.
Antibiotics are used to treat bacterial infections; however, many people still misunderstand how to use them. Some use antibiotics without a doctor’s prescription, fail to finish the prescribed dosage, or reuse leftover antibiotics. These practices can lead to antibiotic resistance, which makes treatments less effective.
During the event, KKN students provided education on what antibiotics are, examples of diseases that require antibiotics, common mistakes in their use, and the correct principles for using antibiotics. The information was presented in a way that was easy to understand, supplemented with educational leaflets to provide more detailed information.

The activity received positive feedback from the community, especially from Mrs. Lestari, who stated that the socialization was very beneficial and provided clear understanding. It is hoped that through this socialization, the community will use antibiotics rationally, safely, and responsibly, supporting the improvement of public health.
