Recently, there has been an increase in the incidence of acute renal failure in infants and toddlers associated with levels of Ethylene Glycol (EG) and Diethylene Glycol (DEG) contamination exceeding the required threshold of a syrup preparation. This incident has become a lesson for the entire pharmaceutical industry in Indonesia to always improve the quality in the manufacture of pharmaceutical preparations. Departing from the above problems, in order to improve the competence of students to find out the importance of the quality assurance process in the production of pharmaceutical preparations, the Diponegoro University Pharmacy Study Program held a guest lecture that further reviewed the role of pharmaceuticals in quality assurance of pharmaceutical preparations in the pharmaceutical industry.

This guest lecture was held with speakers Dr. MR. Roestan, MBA., Apt. (Operational Director of PT. Biofarma Persero Indonesia). The purpose of this activity is as an effort to provide advice to students of the Pharmacy Study Program of Faculty of Medicine Diponegoro University regarding Quality Assurance of Pharmaceutical Preparations in the Pharmaceutical Industry.

The time and implementation of the activity will be held on February 27, 2023, at: 08.30-12.30 WIB. located in Smart Class, Building B, Faculty of Medicine UNDIP, with participants, namely Diponegoro University, Pharmacy study program students totaling approximately 160 people, and did not close the contribution for alumni or other students to join online.

The expected learning outcomes through this guest lecture are:
1. Definition of quality assurance and the importance of quality assurance of pharmaceutical preparations
2. Flow and process of quality assurance of pharmaceutical preparations in the pharmaceutical industry
3. The Role of Quality Control and Quality Assurance in the Pharmacy Industry in ensuring quality
4. The role of Quality Management System (QMS) and Quality risk Management (QRM) in ensuring the quality of pharmaceutical preparations
5. The role of pharmaceuticals in quality assurance of pharmaceutical preparations in the pharmaceutical industry
6. Future directions and policies in quality assurance of pharmaceutical preparations in the pharmaceutical industry
